Individual Product Data Sheets for Sponge Iron

Ancor MH-100: Is a sponge iron powder which is the P/M industry standard for producing low to medium density parts. It is produced by the direct reduction of high grade magnetite iron ore. This process results in spongy particles (see photomicrographs) which have good compressibility, exceptionally good green strength and produces parts with good edge integrity. Ancor MH-100 has been produced by Hoeganaes since the early 1950's and has been the "workhorse" of the P/M Industry longer than any other powder grade.

Ancormet 101: Is a sponge iron powder which was developed to supply the P/M industry with a powder grade that could be used for low to medium density parts with higher strength requirements. Ancormet 101 can be used where a high green strength is required for part handling. In addition, Ancormet 101 results in fast and uniform carbon pick-up during sintering and permits shorter sintering cycles. Dimensional change factors are lower especially in the copper steels.
