Ancorsteel 4300: Is the first in a new line of engineered high performance binder-treated products that simulate wrought steel compositions and can be processed at conventional sintering temperatures. The excellent strength, hardenability, fatigue, and toughness characteristics in the single press/single sinter condition provide a cost-effective alternative to alloys that require secondary thermal treatments. Low sintered oxygen levels (500 ppm) are achieved in this unique Cr-bearing alloy when processed at 1120ēC (2050ēF). The graphite level can be tailored to the demands of the specific application. Other advantages of this alloy include good compressibility, and exceptional dimensional stability with respect to graphite content, compaction pressure, and sintering conditions.

Ancorsteel 721 SH: Is a water atomized, prealloyed atomized steel powder specifically developed for sinter hardening. It complements Ancorsteel 737 SH as it contains slightly lower levels of molybdenum and nickel. Ancorsteel 721 SH may be used for applications where the slightly higher hardenability of Ancorsteel 737 SH is not required. With good compressibility and stable dimensional change Ancorsteel 721 SH is the powder of choice for small to medium size parts that are to be sinter hardened.
Ancorsteel 737 SH: Is a water atomized, prealloyed atomized steel powder specifically developed for heat treatment by either the sinterhardening process or conventional quenching and tempering. The primary characteristics center on excellent hardenability in conjunction with good compressibility, particularly at higher compaction pressures. This unique combination of attributes differentiates its performance and optimizes both static and dynamic strength. Low sintered growth, resulting in higher sintered densities, along with stable dimensional response are major hallmarks which enhance suitability for a wide range of demanding applications. In some instances, the exceptional hardenability provides a means of sinter-hardening without requiring accelerated cooling equipment or high percentages of admixed additions.
Ancorsteel 2000: Is a water atomized low-alloy powder metal containing nickel, molybdenum, and manganese which satisfies Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) material specification FL-4200. Ancorsteel 2000 is particularly useful for conventional P/M parts requiring greater hardenability than is possible when using admixed or diffusion alloyed powders. It has good compressibility and green strength, enabling parts to be made easily to densities above 6.7 g/cm3. The use of nickel and molybdenum as the principal alloying elements permits Ancorsteel 2000 to be processed using conventional P/M sintering temperatures and atmospheres. Ancorsteel 2000, because of its high degree of cleanliness and uniform chemistry, is ideally suited for iron powder forging (P/F) applications that require the hardenability and mechanical properties associated with cast and wrought steels. Part densities of 7.60 to 7.86 g/cm3 can be obtained using hot forming pressures of 4151100 MPa (3080 tsi).
Ancorsteel 4600V: Is a water atomized low alloy metal powder containing nickel, molybdenum, and manganese which satisfies Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) material specification FL-4600. Ancorloy 2 / Ancorloy 4: Is the material designation given to a new product line based on the use of a new Engineered Bonding Technology for high performance applications. The composition of these bindertreated premixed materials meets the chemical composition limits for the MPIF Material Standard 35 for Material Designations FD-02XX and FD-04XX respectively. The combined carbon level of the finished sintered part can be adjusted through a graphite addition in the premix. Equivalent tensile properties can be achieved with lower graphite additions for the Ancorloy Grades in comparison with the Distaloy 4600A and Distaloy 4800A materials.
Ancorloy DH-1: Is a new press-ready, engineered binder-treated premixed ferrous P/M material designed for sinter-hardening. It has comparable performance to a diffusion alloyed product of the same composition. Ancorloy DH-1 is a hybrid alloy based on Ancorsteel 150 HP to which 2 w/o copper has been added during a binder-treated premixing operation, It is designed for use in sinter-hardening applications that do not need the extremely high hardenability of Ancorsteel 737 SH.

It has comparable performance to a diffusion alloyed product of the same composition. Ancorloy HP-1 is a hybrid alloy based on Ancorsteel 150 HP to which 4 w/o nickel and 2 w/o copper have been added during a binder-treated premixing operation. It is more highly alloyed than the hybrid alloy Ancorloy 4. Tempering as-sintered compacts made from Ancorloy HP-1 improves their tensile strength and tensile ductility.
Ancorsteel Phosphorus Alloys: Are ferrous base powders for P/M parts requiring superior electromagnetic performance. Compared with parts made from pure, high compressibility iron powders, those made from the phosphorus alloys have higher resistivity, permeability and induction, and reduced coercive force. The presence of phosphorus also decreases the susceptibility of a P/M component to nitrogen aging. Ancorsteel phosphorus alloys are produced by making ferrophosphorus additions to the highly compressible iron powders Ancorsteel 1000B or Ancorsteel 1000C. Components made from the phosphorus alloys exhibit a good combination of tensile strength, ductility, and impact absorption energy. The particle size of the added ferrophosphorus is important as it has a significant effect on these properties. The ferrophosphorus powder should be finer than 20 micrometers and preferably should have a median particle size close to 10 micrometers. The Hoeganaes products Ancorsteel 45P and Ancorsteel 80P contain 0.45 and 0.80 weight % (w/o) phosphorus respectively. Typical applications for parts made from Ancorsteel phosphorus alloys include speed sensors, magnetic solenoids and plungers.
AncorLam: A high performance insulated particle material suitable for a variety of soft magnetic applications that require low core losses. Specific applications include ignition system components, electric motor components, solenoids, and inductors. Growth opportunities with soft magnetic materials
