	A:		All three Hoeganaes facilities are Quality System Certified to ISO 9001 & QS-9000. By Det Norske Veritas, or DNV.

QUALITY CONTROL

	Q:		Why does Hoeganaes buy the magnetite ore from Scandanavia and not a U.S. supplier?
	A:		Hoeganaes has looked into purchasing magnetite from a U.S. supplier but our requirements for a high purity iron source has been too much for the available domestic U.S. market. The Swedish mined ore has sufficient supplies for at least the next 30 years.
	Q:		Why are the microcleanliness results developed from forged samples and not just sintered samples?
	A:		It is necessary to forge samples before preparing them to be evaluated by the Image Analyzer. This instrument allows the Metallographic Laboratory to determine a quantitative value for the inclusions present in a sample. The automated nature of this determination is based upon the sample being "fully dense" and not filled with internal porosity. The instrument would interpret pores as actual inclusions and this would bias the results.
