Magnetic Materials
PM magnetic materials can be classified as sintered DC materials or insulated non-sintered materials for AC applications. Sintered DC magnetic materials include pure iron for (example Ancorsteel® 1000C), iron phosphorus alloys (Ancorsteel® 45P and Ancorsteel® 80P) and iron silicon alloys. The selection of a particular grade depends on the magnetic and mechanical properties of PM component. Non-sintered ferrous materials (AncorLam™ grades) for AC applications utilize an electrically insulating coating on the powder, which is cured after compaction. Curing temperatures are well below the sintering temperatures of ferrous materials.
